COLD WATER THERAPY

Cold-water immersion is a short, controlled exposure that creates an immediate physiological response, increasing alertness and providing a powerful stimulus for both body and mind.

At The Set, cold exposure is controlled and progressive, with temperature and duration adapted to your experience, tolerance and goals.

Whether you’re looking to support recovery, reduce post-exercise soreness, feel more energised or challenge yourself in a controlled environment, cold-water therapy can become a valuable part of your wider wellbeing and recovery routine.

It’s not about how cold you can go or how long you can stay in. . .

A few deliberate minutes

A noticeable shift in how you feel

Used appropriately, cold-water immersion can support post-exercise recovery, temporarily reduce muscle soreness and leave you feeling alert, focused and energised.

The initial cold creates a powerful physical response. Breathing quickens, the body becomes highly alert and your natural instinct may be to tense.

By settling your breathing and remaining composed, the experience becomes an opportunity to practise calm, focus and control under physical stress.

Our temperature-controlled cold-water bath allows each session to be carefully managed rather than relying on a one-size-fits-all approach.

Temperature and duration can be adjusted and progressed over time, making cold-water therapy accessible whether it’s your first experience or already an established part of your routine.

The initial cold is immediate. Your instinct may be to tense and breathe more quickly, but as you settle your breathing and remain present, your body begins to adjust.

There is no competition and nothing to prove. We focus on controlled exposure and how you respond… not simply how long you can stay in.

Over time, cold-water immersion can become as much about composure and focus as the physical experience itself.

THE FIRST FEW SECONDS SAY A LOT

Cold-water therapy can be used independently or combined with our infrared sauna as part of a structured contrast experience. Moving between controlled heat and cold provides two very different physiological stimuli and creates dedicated time to focus on recovery.

Add time in the hydrotherapy pool and you have a complete recovery experience bringing together heat, cold, water and rest.
